台灣再發現狂犬病跨種傳播病例。農委會動植物防疫檢疫局29日接獲家畜衛生試驗所通報，23日民眾於墾丁鵝鑾鼻公園拾獲之白鼻心，確診感染狂犬病，為台灣白鼻心確診首例。

屏科大野生動物保育研究所博士後研究學者陳貞志表示，若白鼻心體內的病毒株與目前已知的鼬獾體內病毒株是一致的，那麼或許可解釋為偶發感染，若兩者是不同的病毒株，則必須了解是否在白鼻心族群中，也有狂犬病毒盛行。

陳貞志解釋，白鼻心屬於靈貓科，鼬獾屬於貂科，皆屬食肉目下。鼬獾已知為保毒宿主，至於白鼻心則必須了解是否具備以下特徵：

• 狂犬病病毒需持續存在於保毒宿主族群內；
  當其他物種無狂犬病病例時，保毒宿主仍可發現病例或陽性個體需；
  狂犬病病毒之發生，最先發現的應是保毒宿主的病例，隨後才是其他物種；
  當保毒宿主的狂犬病病毒受到控制時，其他物種之病例也可同時受到控制；
  保毒宿主與其他物種之狂犬病病毒型應一致。

確認是否為保毒宿主，目的是找到源頭，從源頭使用疫苗，對疫情的撲滅或後續管理才有效果。

野生動物疾病研究和家畜是不同的，3年前防檢局體認到重要性，進行野生動物監測，不過檢測資料顯有不足，仍被動的來自民眾提供或路死個體；即使去（2013）年也只針對食肉目狂犬病疫情監測。

陳貞志建議，應於全台北中南東、不同海拔設置監測站，以標準化的作業流程進行監測，研究團隊則最好能結合了解野生動物行為及生態的專家，以及了解動物疾病、流行病學、檢疫防疫的研究人員，跨域合作，才能累積有效的資料。

以狂犬病為例，狂犬病毒在台灣既然躲了60年，為何2013年會爆發疫情，造成鼬獾大量死亡？知道發生的原因，才知如何疫病管理，而這需要長期資料累積，不能只是猜測推論。

長期監測資料，才能了解疫病變化。他指出，目前台灣大多只做點的監測，缺乏時間軸（縱）向以及區域（橫向）的資料及連結。因此當發生狂犬病疫情，不 是無法取得過去相關的資料，就是過去缺乏標準化的監測資料，使用的方法不夠客觀，而無法成為判斷、解釋的依據，反而可能造成誤判，只能重新累積資料...（廖靜蕙／台北報導）
