英特爾替英國物理學家霍金打造的新溝通平台，取代他已使用數十年的舊系統，使得霍金與外界溝通的速率和效率大為增進。霍金稱讚該系統可以大大改善殘疾人士的生活，卻指出，他擔心人工智慧將使人類滅亡。

患有俗稱漸凍人的肌萎縮性脊髓側索硬化症的霍金，長年來幾乎全身癱瘓，必須靠人工智慧的儀器與外界溝通。霍金說，他看好人工智慧有消滅戰爭、疾病和貧窮的潛力，他說：「遙望未來，人工智慧能做到的事沒有極限。」但他也說，等到人工智慧有自我思考的能力，也有能力自我改善的時候，「不久的將來就會成為人類真正的威脅。」

霍金指出，基因工程讓人類提升DNA的複雜性，並改善人類演化歷程，但這是一緩慢的過程，要花上約18年才能有清楚成效。但根據摩爾定律，每18個月電腦的運行速度和記憶能力便能提升一倍。這是人類漫長的演化過程無法趕上的。

英特爾花了三年時間為霍金打造「輔助式情境感知工具組」，使用霍金既有的臉頰感應器，透過裝在他眼鏡上的紅外線轉換器進行偵測並協助他選取電腦上的字元。此外，儀器軟體由英國語言科技廠商SwiftKey提供，系統能學習並預測霍金要說的下一個字元和文字，讓他需輸入的字元比以前少20%，溝通速度大為提升。最後，這些文字訊息送到聲音合成器，讓霍金透過筆電和他人溝通。

過去，霍金若要上網查資料，必須先離開溝通視窗，操作滑鼠游標打開網頁瀏覽器，再把游標移到搜尋欄並鍵入關鍵字，但新的機器未來會自動完成一切。

霍金說：「藥物無法治癒我的病，所以我依靠科技溝通和活下去。」

本報訊

「2014台北富邦馬拉松」上午7時在台北市市民廣場，由台北市長郝龍斌鳴槍後起跑，賽事共分賽程42.195公里的馬拉松組、21.0975公里的半程馬拉松組、9公里的路跑組和警消組、2公里的兒童組及3公里的富邦FUN RUN組等。

今年的菁英選手中，有包括連兩屆賽事冠軍喬瑟法、今年在德國的法蘭克福馬拉松跑出2小時7分29秒的肯亞好手羅納德（Ronald Kipkoech Korir）、今年在德國的法蘭克福馬拉松跑出2小時25分14秒的肯亞女將愛蜜莉（Emily Chemutai Ngetich）和台灣好手蔣介文、何盡平，台灣女將簡培宇等亮點選手參賽。

在今天全程馬拉松的賽事中，肯亞好手在比賽中展現強大實力，在比賽中獨自形成領先集團彼此競爭，最後由朱利斯（Julius Chepkwony Rotich）以2小時14分4秒的成績抱走男子組冠軍並贏得新台幣120萬元的冠軍獎金，可惜的是他的成績未能打破過去記錄，無法贏得破紀錄獎金。

根據主辦單位表示，大會今年提供200萬元的破紀錄獎金，供參加全馬的各國好手爭取。

過去大會全馬的最佳紀錄中，男子組是由衣索比亞選手耶曼尼（Yemane Tsegay Adhane）在2011年所締造的2小時10分24秒紀錄，女子組則是由肯亞女將海倫娜（Helena Loshanyang Kirop）同樣在2011年所創下的2小時27分36秒成績。

而在台灣選手方面，去年拿下賽事台灣冠軍的何盡平衛冕失利，被看好挑戰台灣冠軍的蔣介文也在比賽進行中宣布退賽，最後由蘇志濱以2小時36分4秒的成績搶下台灣冠軍，而他的成績也在所有選手中排名第10。(中央社)

陳偉殷棒球訓練營今天在新莊棒球場邁入第2天，為了增加歡樂氣氛，今天舉行變裝跑壘活動；陳偉殷穿著和尚服裝當「大師」，王維中變身清宮格格，王溢正、王躍霖、曾仁和變女僕，張進德穿海盜裝。

變裝跑壘大賽在早上9時舉行，新莊棒球場氣氛很歡樂，參與訓練的72名學員各個奇裝異服，人物跨越古今中外，還有各種卡通人物；在教練團的帶領之下，學員穿著道具服在壘包間競速。

陳偉殷旅美3年、第3年主持棒球營，傳授經驗、技術之外，他不希望年輕選手太嚴肅，今年特別構思「菜鳥日」讓教練、學員輕鬆一下。

教練團的變裝主題，都由陳偉殷指定。王溢正平時就有「正妹」的外號，今天穿上女僕裝，馬上被譽為「今天最正」；王維中虧他「超正的，好像王心凌」，陳偉殷則說「美中不足的是腿毛太長」。

王溢正則反駁說，「其實我最想扮廖添丁」。「土虱」曾仁和一樣穿女僕裝，被問到最想扮的角色，陳偉殷在旁邊插話「土虱一開始就是選這套，我沒有逼他」，曾仁和也配合開玩笑，略帶嬌羞地說「我看這套滿好玩的」。(中央社)
