十二年國教課程總綱草案調降國語文必修課程時數，引發搶救國文教育聯盟不滿，上午召開記者會，痛批教育部此舉將讓國語文教育「去菁存蕪」，導致學生語文能力更加低落。聯盟同時發起連署陳情，包含詩人余光中、中研院院士許倬雲、前台大校長孫震等都加入連署。

搶救國文教育聯盟執行秘書李素貞指出，十二年國教總綱草案讓國小中高年級到國中國文必修節數，都只剩五節，高中國文也減少四分之一學分，必修只剩下三節。但是近年來包含日本、韓國、新加坡甚至美國，都紛紛將中文列為中小學的必修或選修課程，台灣卻反其道而行，讓小學生忙著拚英文，忽略最根本的文言文化教育。

作家張曉風引用客家人諺語「寧賣祖宗田、勿忘祖宗言」，強調台灣「軟實力中的軟實力」，正是國文教育，假如連國文教育也敗落，台灣未來在華人世界的領導權將全數盡失。

19歲張姓男子和友人在南投縣租屋處共組詐騙集團，去年為了祭拜死貓在屋內焚燒紙錢，導致租屋處起火，消防隊員進入滅火，發現大批電腦主機和詐騙手冊，一場火災也燒垮了這個詐騙集團。南投地檢署今依公共危險罪和詐欺罪嫌，起訴張姓男子及其他成員。

不畏金融營業稅修法案一讀過關的加稅利空，金融類股受惠於金管會承諾持續鬆綁業務、擴大發展空間下，早盤逆勢走揚，個股普遍紅咚咚，類股指數漲幅超過0.5%。

立法院財委會昨天審查通過提高金融業營業稅修法案，並決議三個月內由財政部會同金管會提出落日的條件，立院力拚此法案在本會期三讀過關，代表最快7月起金融業一年多繳240億元營業稅。

不過，金管會主委曾銘宗表示，從第1季獲利表現來看，銀行業獲利今年仍有機會挑戰新高。

為了讓金融業有機會賺回多繳的稅金，曾銘宗承諾，未來金管會將在穩健原則下，大量開放業務，儘量鬆綁，讓金融業有更大的發展空間。

為了讓勞工輕鬆一下，北市勞動局舉辦「2014台北百工生活維他命」活動，首場將在5月25日在大安森林公園登場，勞動局請來民生社區管樂團、國語實小弦樂團等團體，要帶給民眾一個浪漫的音樂夜晚。

6月至9月，還將舉辦4場系列講座，分別就營養、運動、音樂、創業等四大面向，邀民眾一塊來充實身心靈。

勞動局長陳業鑫表示，有健康的身體，才有好的工作積效，今年生活百工以「維他命」為概念，希望為勞工加油打氣。
