2014年賀寶芙盃少棒賽，高雄市在6局下半演出大逆轉，以4：3擊敗南投縣，沒讓拚命高喊「永不放棄」的小球員、加油團失望，更沒讓已故的台灣傳奇教頭徐生明失望。

高雄市本屆主要由徐生明過世前親手栽培的美濃國小球員組成，29日只要輸球就得打包回家，但9棒的劉嘉益先飆出右外野方向的三壘安打，將比數追平，開路先鋒劉貴元再掃出反方向安打，向「內地軍團」說再見。

「永不放棄是徐總教大家的口號，再輸就淘汰了，大家有把徐總精神拿出來。」高雄市教練鍾建文說。

左打的劉貴元，最後一擊將球掃成三游方向安打，他笑說：「我本來就會打反方向，這不難，但上去的時候真的很緊張。」

「第一次打再見安打，很開心能幫球隊建功，徐總一直教我們永不放棄，我做到了。」劉貴元說。
