Lionel Messi對奈及利亞連進2球，但都隨即被還以顏色，還出自同一人腳下，就是21歲的Ahmed Musa，此役展現出來破壞力，比起阿根廷天王毫不遜色。

Musa場上可出任前鋒或中場，很早就嶄露過人的進攻天賦，在奈及利亞超級聯賽18次進球，為聯賽最高紀錄，直到2011年11月才被打破。

出色的表現，也讓Musa有向歐洲探路的機會，第一站來到荷甲，當時還因為才17歲，不符合FIFA（國際足總）年聯下限，等到滿18歲才正式出賽。

原本Musa在歐洲的第二站是德甲，但因故未成行，不過在2012年轉到俄超的莫斯科中央陸軍。

Musa擁有過人的速度與盤球能力，成為他克敵制勝的武器，他對阿根廷賽前曾表示：「阿根廷有出色的球員，我們也有，我們不怕他們，這是場龍頭之爭，我們可以獲勝的。」

比賽中的表現，讓Musa沒有辜負他的豪氣發言，雖然奈及利亞1球吞敗，但他締造了隊史在世界盃最快進球紀錄，也是世界盃史上最快的反擊進球紀錄。
