高雄氣爆事件造成嚴重傷亡，現場杯盤狼藉，殘破不堪，搜救人員正忙著積極搜救。但7日上午高雄市區開始下起滂沱大雨，災區現場積水，導致搜救難度增加，目前暫停搜救行動。

氣象局表示，今日台灣地區水氣仍多，天氣依舊不穩定，各地中午前後高溫都在32至34度間，感覺上還是會比較悶熱，雖然大多還是看得見陽光，但西半部及東南部地區不定時會出現局部短暫陣雨或雷雨。

高雄市區在上午8點多左右開始下雨，至今雨勢仍未見停歇，其中災區路口包括二聖路和凱旋路口，已經淹成一條小河；凱旋和一心路口，積水已和路面齊高，災民和搜救人員均憂心忡忡，擔心搜救和災後復原進度恐受影響。目前也出動怪手等機具，加速清理淤積。
