國民黨籍的國策顧問鄭永金今（13）日大動作宣布請辭國策顧問，將以無黨籍身分投入新竹縣長選舉，與國民黨籍、尋求連任的邱鏡淳一拚高下；黨主席馬英九下午在主持中常會時對此表示「遺憾」，但也說在9月1日之前會持續溝通，「黨中央該做的都會做」。

據與會者轉述，有中常委在中常會上提及，鄭永金宣布將脫黨參選新竹縣長，但新竹縣是優勢選區，不希望國民黨撕裂，盼能圓融處理；但也有中常委表示，新竹地方民眾對鄭永金宣布參選表達憤怒，要求黨中央全力支持黨提名人。

黨主席馬英九在回應此問題時表達遺憾之意，另表示在中選會規定9月1日受理候選人登記申請日之前，黨中央該做的都會做，將會持續溝通。

至於是否會對鄭永金祭出黨紀處分？轉述者表示，「9 月1 日前沒有登記，就沒有事實」，國民黨會盡一切努力協調。
