美國總統歐巴馬14日召開記者會表示，美軍的空襲行動已突破「伊斯蘭國」好戰分子對伊拉克辛賈爾山的包圍，因此不需要展開撤離山區難民的行動，也不需要繼續空投物資。

歐巴馬說：「我們幫助無助的人抵達安全地點，救了很多無辜者的性命。我們不預期還會有其他的撤離行動，也不需要繼續對山區進行人道空投。」

不過，歐巴馬說，美國會繼續空襲，以保護美國在伊拉克的設施，並呼籲伊拉克人團結擊敗「伊斯蘭國」。
