中信兄弟總教練謝長亨24日表示林威助下周應該就可以到二軍比賽，希望他9月就可以上一軍；不過林威助的時程比草總慢了一點，林威助說他應該9月初才能到二軍比賽。

林威助5月中旬因左膝半月軟骨受傷開刀治療，經過這段時間的休養及復健，現在已可參加賽前的打擊練習，草總說「林威助9月回一軍之後，會讓他擔任指定打擊或代打，暫時不會讓他上場守備」。

林威助今年加入中信兄弟，在一軍出賽26場，打擊率1成92、全壘打1支、打點10分，草總期待林威助重返一軍之後，可以發揮他的長程火力。
