降薪也不走 甜瓜：商業考量

據NBC報導，「甜瓜」安東尼（Carmelo Anthony）稱自己留守紐約，關鍵在於「商業」的考量，紐約金融發達，更有利於自己的商業規劃。

當所有人期待安東尼留在尼克時，他卻選擇進入自由球員市場，相繼考察了公牛、火箭、小牛以及湖人後，安東尼決定跟尼克續約，簽訂5年1.24億美元的合約，接受500萬美元的降薪，沒有拿全額頂薪。

在經歷了整個過程後，安東尼感慨，他再也不進自由球員市場，正因為此，他選擇簽訂5年合約，「我計畫在尼克結束生涯，我不想簽下兩年合約，兩年後再次經歷這樣的局面。」

安東尼承認，在做決定的過程中他心懷顧慮，他擔心離開尼克加盟其他球隊需要白手起家，重新建立自己的品牌形象，「我只是覺得如果我離開紐約的話，我的一切都得重新開始。」有趣的是當他拿到5年約時說，自己選擇續約主要是為了贏球而並非是錢。

商業規劃是主要因素外，安東尼也是綜合考慮到想和「禪師」傑克森（Phil Jackson）合作，以及家庭等因素。
