澳洲裔美籍媒體大亨梅鐸13日到蘇格蘭的亞伯丁、格拉斯哥等大城，在蘇格蘭獨立公投剩下的五天裡為Yes派衝票。梅鐸是倫敦泰晤士報、太陽報的老闆，他曾說蘇獨領袖薩爾蒙德是「英國最好的政治家」。他10日推特說，蘇格蘭做自己比較好，勝過造倫敦過日子。
