新華網今天報導，9月14日為中國網民文化節，中國網際網路協會表示，大陸網路使用者已達6億3200萬人，是全球網友數量最多的國家。

協會並發表「致中國6億網民（網友）的一封信」。負責人表示，經過20多年發展，中國大陸已全面進入Web2.0時代，網際網路不斷深入到政治、經濟、文化、醫療、教育各領域，並產生深遠影響。

這封信指出，同時，基於網路衍生的商業模式不斷創新，伴隨行動網路快速發展，大陸逐漸發展出6億3200萬名網友的龐大規模，成為全球網友最多的國家。

報導指出，1987年的9月14日，大陸發出首封電子郵件「跨越長城、通向世界」，被認為是華人使用網際網路的開端。因此2009年，經過網友投票選出日期和徽標，定9月14日為中國網民文化節。(中央社)
