張玉潔頂著牛津大學化學博士光環，擱著當教授的機會四處征戰，目標2016年里約奧運的她，先在仁川亞運幫助中華隊在馬場馬術團體賽拿下銅牌。

張玉潔與克文、郭力瑜與葉繡華在馬場馬術團體賽，以平均67.386的成績，些微之差高過印度名列第三，兩隊差距僅有0.351。

四人之中以張玉潔67.5531分數最高，她在大四時首度接觸馬術運動，就讀牛津大學後還加入學校的馬術隊，去年海爾德蘭國際馬場馬術三星賽拿下第6。

仁川亞運是張玉潔首度以國家隊名義出賽，在亞運開賽第一天就替中華隊奪牌，亞運結束之後她還會繼續到歐洲出賽。

中華隊教練呂志耀表示，能夠奪銅，在於選手們都有超乎預期的表現，原本每人至少要有65分的表現才有機會拿牌，但有3名選手達到67分的門檻。
