洋基隊這個禮拜將進行本季最後4場主場比賽，也是隊長Derek Jeter最後4次在紐約出賽，其中3場晚場賽事，球團特別提早一小時，開放球迷進場，好欣賞隊長賽前打擊練習。

「當球迷為你喝采，那真是好太多了，」Jeter說，「今年一整季，球迷都對我很好。」

教頭Joe Girardi宣示，最後7場例行賽，都會讓Jeter上場，「當然也會有個幾天，像今天這樣，讓Jeter擔任DH。」

目前洋基隊在美聯外卡榜上，落後第二名皇家隊4.5場。「在我們淘汰之前，都得全力以赴、盡可能贏球。」Jeter說。

本季Jeter打擊率0.255、擊出4轟。洋基隊在主場打完跟金鶯隊的四連戰後，要到波士頓跟紅襪隊進行封關三連戰，芬威球場將成為Jeter最後例行賽的舞台。
