金鶯矮子吃禁藥 球迷愛不完

前金鶯二壘手羅柏茲（Brian Roberts）婉拒其他球隊邀約，接受《巴爾的摩太陽報》訪問時表示，經過這段時間思考，決定結束14年的大聯盟球員生涯，宣布正式退休。

剛滿37歲，效力金鶯長達13個球季後，羅柏茲去年球季成為自由球員，今年轉戰洋基，但8月時就被釋出，羅柏茲表示，當時有2支球隊有意延攬加盟，但他選擇拒絕，經過時間思考，最後還是決定退休。

羅柏茲認為，如果繼續打下去，無法再有過去的水準，不想要當那種只想撐越久越好的球員，時間真的到了，職業生涯不斷質疑自己夠不夠好，在球場上總是最矮小的球員，但很感謝上帝給予機會。

離開球場之後，羅柏茲透露，除了多花點時間陪伴妻子與14個月大的兒子之外，目前還沒有計畫要做什麼，未來如果能回到棒球圈從事相關工作，心中首選仍是金鶯。

金鶯在1999年補償選秀第1輪選中羅柏茲，只花2年時間就登上大聯盟，並在2003年站穩金鶯先發二壘手的位置，2005年、2007年曾經入選明星賽，雖然羅柏茲後來坦承過去使用過1次禁藥，但還是持續受到球迷喜愛，可惜近年受到傷病困擾，本季待在洋基出賽91場，已是近5季最多。
