湖人隊老大科比，近來比賽頻頻打鐵命中率每況愈下，身體也開始產生痛感，科比不得不開始考慮自己的身體狀況，近期他可能缺陣一部分湖人比賽。

　　科比在接受雅虎體育的採訪時說，「如果我的身體給出我這樣的訊號，那麼我可能就沒太多選擇了」。科比說，他花費了很多的時間跟很大的訓練量，讓自己能夠回歸比賽狀態，但既然他的身體有了痛感，有時候確實該選擇休戰了。科比說，他會搞清楚目前身體的狀況，並依照身體的指示行事。

　　湖人教練史考特認為是身體上的疲乏，導致科比的低迷。史考特表示，會考慮讓科比在接下來的客場之旅中休戰一到兩場，或者至少要嚴格控制科比出場時間。
