Legacy車禍後煞車失靈

昨天我父母親從花蓮駕車回台北
中途被失控砂石車從後面撞上
撞擊力道很大
所幸我爸反應很快還繞過前面的洗路車
但還是稍微擦撞到前車

很怪的是 撞擊後我爸就發現剎車失靈
約下坡滑行500公尺後
他決定選擇直接用車側摩擦山壁才讓車停下來
所幸人都沒有受傷

不過我想請問的是
很明顯的砂石車一定有責任
但是更危險的是為什麼車從後面被撞會導致剎車失靈呢?
這台Legacy GT約牽1年半
原本我爸打算把車拖回原廠檢查
我怕原廠會掩蓋他們剎車系統的問題
不知各位前輩有沒有類似經驗或是建議的解決方法?謝謝!
