中國大陸新疆省和田市15日晚間發生3名持刀歹徒，闖入一家棋室攻擊人群的事件，其中2名歹徒遭擊斃，第三人則負傷逃走。
在新疆政府官網上的這則報導中，並未提到攻擊者的犯案動機。根據報導，在武裝巡邏部隊趕赴現場制伏歹徒之前，現場民眾曾和攻擊者發生搏鬥，有4人受傷。
在這起攻擊事件發生之際，北京當局正因新疆數起以民眾為目標的攻擊事件，而對當地採取鎮壓行動。
新疆首府烏魯木齊5月間發生流血攻擊事件，造成43人死亡。今年3月，一群持刀亂砍的暴徒，在昆明火車站殺害了29人，官方指責新疆分離主義份子是幕後主謀。

美聯社今天(16日)報導，根據美聯社影記者所拍影片顯示，里約熱內盧的馬拉卡那球場(Maracana Stadium)附近，一名員警疑似朝世界盃足球賽(World Cup)的抗議民眾發射實彈。
這場衝突發生於阿根廷對上波士尼亞-赫塞哥維納的賽事開始沒多久，距離球場約1.5公里，另外一名自稱便衣警察的人士也對空鳴了2槍。
里約熱內盧維安部門發言人丹塔斯(Pedro Dantas)接受電話訪問時表示，如果有關當局證實影片的內容，就會對該起事件立即展開調查。
該部門事後發表聲明表示，鎮暴警察遭到抗議民眾以汽油彈攻擊，但並未提及是否有警察受傷。
巴西各地去年6月在聯合會盃(Confederations Cup)期間出現大規模示威抗議活動，當時一度有超過100萬名巴西民眾走上街頭，抗議在2週之後逐漸趨緩，但取而代之的是眾多小規模的暴力衝突，多半集中於里約熱內盧和聖保羅。
