他汀類藥物可能導致患者放心大吃

「美國醫學會期刊」 (JAMA)24日發表研究報告，表示用以降低膽固醇的他汀類藥物 (statin)，可能導致患者放心大吃。

對美國政府1990至2010年的健康調查資料進行的研究，發現服用他汀類藥物者攝取的熱量和脂肪顯著增加，顯示許多人可能以為光靠吃藥就可以解決問題，放棄維護心臟健康的生活方式。

研究報告說，他汀類藥物可能維持膽固醇降低，即使患者減少吃健康食品和運動，可是這些不良習慣可能助長肥胖、高血壓、糖尿病，以及對心臟不利的其他問題。

JAMA編輯說，他汀類藥物已知可能引起肌肉疼痛和糖尿病等副作用，而新研究報告也令人擔心這種藥物可能提供虛假保證，讓人相信吃藥可以抵銷飲食習慣不良和缺少運動的害處。
