馬來西亞警方稱，此前被逮捕的11名恐怖分子與馬航失聯事件無關，否認了英國媒體的相關報導。

中新網據馬來西亞《星報》報導，馬來西亞警察總長哈立德·巴卡爾(Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar)稱，這篇報導是『垃圾』，逮捕恐怖分子『與飛機完全無關』。

這些武裝分子成員在上周被馬來西亞的反恐部門逮捕，警方懷疑他們在敘利亞和菲律賓南部有組織，並計劃向大馬士革派遣兵力。

哈立德稱，警方在調查這個組織通過社交媒體招募外國學生的可能性，並稱即將進行更多的抓捕行動。

此前媒體報導稱，與基地組織有關的11名恐怖分子因涉嫌參與策劃馬航MH370客機失聯事件，上周分別在馬來西亞首都吉隆坡和吉打州被捕，目前正接受審訊。在這些人被捕後，包括美國聯邦調查局和英國軍情六處在內的國際調查人員要求就MH370失聯對他們進行深入問訊。
