蘇格蘭今天舉行歷史性獨立公投，蘇格蘭和英國報紙全都特別製作頭版，放上旗幟及引用名詩人羅伯特．伯恩斯（Robert Burns）的詩句，充滿戲劇和歷史感。

大多數報紙頭版沒再放其他報導。

倫敦「每日電訊報」（Daily Telegraph）頭版全版圖片是2名男子，舉著一面藍白蘇格蘭旗幟及紅白藍英國國旗，僅壓一行伯恩斯的詩句：「是可做英國人，但我們自己應團結。」（Be Brain still to Britaintrue, amang ourselves united）

「泰晤士報」（The Times）頭版圖片是一面被包起來的英國國旗，一行文字寫著：「英國聯盟的行動開始日（D-Day）」；然後末頁是伯恩斯「驪歌」（AuldLang Syne）裡的句子「舊友是否被遺忘」。

「金融時報」（FT）頭條寫著：「美麗和恐懼讓蘇格蘭人痛苦抉擇--位處歷史邊緣」，圖片則是蘇格蘭旗幟在一片灰雲背景前飄揚。

「英國蘇格蘭人報」（Scotsman）和「衛報」（Guardian）頭版標題都是「命運今日訂」。

蘇格蘭丹狄市（Dundee）「郵報」（Courier）放一張貼滿自拍照的蘇格蘭地圖，然後寫著「標示出你自己」，力促蘇格蘭民眾。

「獨立報」（Independent）選用的圖片是一隻手握著2面旗。頭題是「307年之癢」。
