Clayton Kershaw縱使沒拿出最佳表現，還是靠著隊友護航，成為本季第一位20勝投手。道奇敲出13支安打，包括4發紅不讓，以14比5大勝小熊。

Kershaw投5局被敲7安、失3分，是他最近3個半月以來，先發局數最短的一次，「我當然希望能投個8、9局，並成為贏球關鍵，但有時候隊友會幫你拿勝投，就像今天這樣，我欣然接受。」

一局上半道奇隊就大有斬獲，Matt Kemp的三分砲、Juan Uribe的適時安打、加上A.J. Ellis的兩分砲，一舉攻下6分，是道奇本季攻勢最兇猛的第一局。

這麼猛烈的攻勢，KO小熊先發投手Edwin Jackson，他才剛從傷兵名單歸隊，第一場先發，只抓到兩個出局、失5分黯然退場，吞下今年第15敗。

「我的感覺不錯，但就是抓不到出局，」Jackson說，「有3個打數，我都已經取得兩好球了，就是沒辦法解決對手。」

雖然Kershaw一局下吐了3分回去，但3局上Ellis擊出單場第二轟，6局上Yasiel Puig也開砲，並開啟另一個6分大局，擴大道奇領先。

這是Kershaw今年第26場先發，拿下第20勝，追平自1961年(擴編時代)以來，最快20勝紀錄，共有6人保有這項紀錄，上一位是1999年的Pedro Martinez。

道奇拿下2連勝，戰績88勝66敗，拜釀酒人輸球之賜，道奇隊至少可以取得外卡、晉級季後賽。他們仍是國聯西區第一。

小熊隊吞下2連敗，戰績68勝86敗，國聯中區墊底，落後倒數第二紅人隊3.5場。
