尼克隊把Tyson Chandler交易出去後，影射這位中鋒是「更衣室裡的麻煩人物」，惹得Chandler相當不爽。

Chandler六月下旬被交易、回到小牛隊，有人指稱，前東家尼克總裁Phil Jackson做那筆交易的原因，是希望改變球隊化學效應。數家媒體把矛頭指向Chandler。

「在尼克的那三年，我做的，就是建立文化而已，」Chandler說，「你可以說我沒打出應有水準，或說不喜歡我的球風，但質疑我的人格、或是在更衣室裡的領袖氣質？真不知道這些話從何而來。」

「我不知道是不是禪師說了那些，或是有其他人那樣說，但真是令我嚇一跳。別為了交易我，就說那些話，都已經成交了。」

Chandler拿出過去表現，為自己背書。他被視為是小牛2010-11球季奪冠的大功臣，這次回鍋小牛，老闆Mark Cuban、總裁Donnie Nelson、教頭Rick Carlisle都相當稱許這位中鋒的領導能力。

「要評論我的人格，可以去問我的隊友、教練們，」Chandler說，「我從來就不是問題人物，那樣說我，我真的不能接受。」

「如果督促大家負起責任，是一種負面影響，也可以啦，那我就是負面影響。但只要我穿好球鞋、走上球場，我會繼續那麼做。」
