Derek Jeter洋基球場的最後一役，本來就是他的舞台，最後也真的在最後1個打席，打出再見安打。

還不只於此，今天Derek Jeter第一局首打席，就打出1分打點的二壘安打，這場比賽的第1分，還有最後1分，都是他打進來。

2比2平手的情況持續到第七局，Derek Jeter上場，擊出了游擊方向的滾地球，結果J.J. Hardy失誤，鈴木一朗跟José Pirela都回來得分。

原本3分的領先，沒想到終結者David Robertson挨兩轟砸鍋，再一次給Derek Jeter當英雄的機會。

沒有比這更誇張的情節，九局下半一人出局，二壘有人，Derek Jeter職業生涯最後1個打席，第一球，右邊平飛安打，二壘上的跑者飛奔回到本壘，Safe，隊長最後一場在洋基球場的比賽，在自己的棒子下畫下最完美的句點。

「首先這局面的展開變化也太不可能了吧？就算是漫畫情節，也太離譜了，」鈴木一朗賽後還是難掩興奮，「沒想到居然就發生在我眼前，更沒想到居然還真的打出去，任誰也都信服了吧？」

「這真的太難以想像了，真的，會在那個時間點，剛好輪到他上場打擊，就已經是奇蹟了。」

當然對好投8局，只被打出3安打的黑田博樹來說，沒有能夠拿下勝投，就比較可惜，他今天被打兩支陽春砲失兩分，投出9次三振，而且連續 5場比賽沒有四壞球。

「Jeter他就是與眾不同，」黑田博樹說，「勝負有時能自己操控，有時不能，這也是沒辦法的事，比賽到最後才知道勝負，尤其在這一年特別感覺如此。」
