小威因傷退賽 送斯托瑟晉級

據WTA官網消息，世界第一、衛冕冠軍小威廉絲（Serena Williams）緊急召開記者會，宣布因左膝受傷退賽！

按照賽程安排，小威將與斯托瑟（Samantha Stosur）在八強賽中對決。不過今天中午，小威臨時召開了記者會，宣布左膝受傷，決定退出比賽，將對手斯托瑟保送進四強。

值得一提的是，在上周的武漢比賽中，小威在首戰面對科內特時就曾在首槃戰至末段時無奈退賽，事后有傳她甚至被送到了醫院接受檢查。來到北京後，身為衛冕冠軍，小威的狀態還是不錯的，第三輪鏖戰三盤後，以6-1、1-6、6-2力克捷克薩法諾娃（Lucie Safarova），鎖定最後一個八強席位。

姐姐大威（Venus Williams）在前一日與科維托娃（Petra Kvitova）的比賽開始前，也宣布因為身體原因退賽。
