巴西總統大選於當地（5）日開始舉行，現任總統羅賽夫（Dilma Rousseff）得票率領先各黨，但票數未過半，因此將在10月26號進行「第二輪投票」。

據英國廣播公司《BBC》報導，巴西總統大選調查顯示，現任總統羅賽夫得票率為44%，領先各黨候選人。不過，因票數未過半，10月26號將進行「第二輪投票」，與得票率30%的社民黨候選人內維斯（Aecio Neves）一較高下。

巴西近年經濟發展停滯不前，國內貧富懸殊嚴重，因此多數民眾渴望能選出「平衡經濟發展及民生」的總統。巴西工黨羅賽夫，因大力推行社福政策，獲得廣大基層民眾支持；而社會民主黨候選人內維斯，因主張刺激、振興經濟，深獲中產階級選民青睞。
