牛棚守護戰果 皇家險勝巨人

世界大賽第3戰，1分領先的皇家靠著 牛棚守護住戰果，最終以3：2險勝巨人，取2勝1敗的領先。

這場比賽移師巨人主場舉行，皇家首局就從先發投手哈德森(Tim Hudson)手中攻下1分，雙方進入僵持到六局上，1出局，艾斯科巴(Alcides Escobar)安打，高登(Alex Gordon)跟進帶有1分打點，攻佔二壘霍斯默(Eric Hosmer)再敲出中外野安打，高登攻下第3分，皇家以3：0領先。

六局下，巨人反攻，兩支安打先得1分，再獲得1次保送，一、二壘有人，靠著2個滾地球出局，搶取1分，只以2：3落後。

領先的皇家啟動牛棚護航，賀雷拉(Kelvin Herrera)、費尼根(Brandon Finnegan)、戴維斯(Wade Davis)與霍蘭德(Greg Holland)分攤3局，沒有被擊出安打、也沒有失分，封鎖巨人的反撲。霍蘭德本季後賽第7次救援成功。

「我們一整年比賽都是這樣做的。」皇家總教練約斯特(Ned Yost)賽後談到對牛棚的調度：「我會保護1分領先，是因為很多時候，我們必須要面對的情況。」

高登前2戰7打數「摃龜」，這場移到第2棒，六局上終於敲出安打、帶有1分打點。

巨人39歲先發投手哈德森在世界大賽首次亮相，投5.2局、被打4支安打、失3分，吞下敗投。
