被譽為日本無法實現翻拍的傳說漫畫《寄生獸》真人版電影，連好萊塢大導詹姆斯卡麥隆都是粉絲之一，他多次表示希望能把這部作品翻拍成電影，甚至已規畫在《阿凡達2》後啟動，最後卻因版權時效問題，只好忍痛轉交由日本團隊執導。

《寄生獸》描述外星生物入侵地球，當人類成為食物必須為生存而戰的故事，漫畫作者岩明均，以恐怖手法混合戰鬥元素，描繪人類和外星生物大戰，作品粉絲遍布全球，現在則是交由日本視覺特效首席導演山崎貴領軍的團隊執導。

片中包括深津繪里被寄生獸破眼而出、東出昌大頭顱裂開變身、寄生生物變形吃人及戰鬥場景，都歷歷呈現，被日本媒體讚譽，展現了與好萊塢並駕齊驅的動畫特效技術。

《寄生獸》將於12月19日全台上映。
