專業顯示器市調機構DisplaySearch預估，雖然2014年全球電視出貨量僅增長1%，但液晶電視（LCD TV）出貨量將增長5%。

DisplaySearch指出，部分液晶電視出貨量增長是由電漿電視（PDP）電視、映像管（CRT）電視的下滑換來的；2014年電漿電視、映像管電視出貨量，將分別下降48%、50%。

DisplaySearch評估，隨電視製造廠停止生產電漿、映像管電視，將精力集中在更具成本競爭力的液晶電視，2015年末電漿電視、映像管電視將完全消失。

另外，有機發光二極體（OLED）也是一種電視平面顯示技術，但DisplaySearch認為到2017年，其市場占有率仍不足1%。(中央社)
