2014年總冠軍賽第5戰16日展開，只差一勝就能拿下隊史第5冠的聖安東尼奧馬刺，第2節靠著Manu Ginobili瘋狂得分秀逆轉，上半場以47：40領先邁阿密熱火。

熱火此役推上「雷槍」Ray Allen取代控衛Mario Chalmers先發，變成「無控衛」陣容，進攻直接讓「小皇帝」LeBron James發動，效果奇佳。

持球時間變多的James開局火力全開，得到全隊前11分中的8分，第1節就攻下17分、6籃板，眼神也比主場2連敗期間犀利，率領熱火取得今年總決賽首度的首節領先。

第2節，馬刺Kawhi Leonard維持近3戰手感，接連單打James得手，點燃球隊氣勢，Marco Belinelli、Tim Duncan都加入戰局，5分41秒時追到只落後1分。

「阿根廷刺客」Manu Ginobili此時重現2007-08年「最佳第六人」身手，切入單臂爆扣、高難度後撤步三分球，AT&T中心全場陷入瘋狂，馬刺「倒打」取得7分領先。
