藥物注射出包後 美擬再執行死刑

美國最高法院17日晚間駁回死刑犯威倫斯(Marcus Wellons)的上訴，相當於死刑定讞。如果順利執行死刑，這將是奧克拉荷馬州4月底藥物注射死刑出包後的首次執行死刑。
一名發言人指出，威倫斯被控於1989年綁架1名15歲少女，性侵得逞後將其殺害；他預定將於17日晚上在喬治亞州接受藥物注射死刑。
美國4月29日傳出注射死刑失誤，導致一名死刑犯痛苦掙扎43分鐘後才死亡，使得其他死刑的執行時程因而遭到延後。
歐盟2011年開始限制出口死刑用藥物至美國，而去年生產麻醉藥物戊巴比妥(pentobarbital)的丹麥藥廠，也宣布不再把這種藥物賣給美國監獄，導致尚未廢除死刑的32州必須重新尋找藥物來源，並嘗試不同的混合藥物。
