10年前就賭兒贏 父彩金賺翻

英國公開賽如願產生父子雙贏的局，在Rory McIlroy 贏下97.5萬英鎊的冠軍獎金之餘，父親也因10年前一場賭注與朋友贏得20萬英鎊的賭金。

10年前，Gerry McIlroy拿出100英鎊，與朋友一起下注，兒子會在25歲贏得英國公開賽，當年博彩公司開的賠率是1：500，而他們集資400英鎊下注。

在 McIlroy奪冠的那一刻， Gerry與朋友共贏得20萬英鎊，平分之後拿到5萬英鎊，締造父子雙贏的局面。

這屆比賽發生不少插曲，都與McIlroy有關，第十六洞有球迷出言侮辱他，且語帶種族歧視，最後被安全人員帶走。

此外，他在打完第十八洞時，拒絕幫小球迷簽名引起討論，但這並非他的過錯，選手打完第十八洞，確認計分卡內容，並簽名繳交大會前，不會做其他事情，包括合影、簽名。

因為若未執行這些動作，或是因此簽錯，成績有可能被取消，Ian Poulter也在Twitter上針對這一點替McIlroy澄清。

接著McIlroy在頒獎時，被部份給予噓聲，因為比賽場地是英超利物浦球迷的地盤，而他是曼聯球迷身份。
