瓦城恢復平靜 當局解除宵禁

緬甸第二大城瓦城(Mandalay)市政當局已經解除了7月初下達的宵禁命令。
由於謠傳2名穆斯林男子強暴1名佛教徒婦女，引爆攻擊行動，佛教徒暴徒縱火燒毀穆斯林的住家和店鋪，造成2人死亡和14人受傷，導致當局在7月3日下令，對7座城鎮實施宵禁。
緬甸內政部後來表示，1名男子因為懷恨在心，遂謊報2名男子強暴1名婦女。
國營的緬甸新光報(New Light of Myanmar)今天(12日)刊出這項命令指出，當地已經大致恢復和平，因此他們決定解除宵禁。
緬甸以佛教徒人口佔大多數，自從2012年以來，發生多起宗教衝突，已經造成多達300人死亡，其中主要發生在西部若開邦(Rakhine)，大多是穆斯林遭到佛教極端份子的攻擊。
