暫居美中龍頭的老虎封王之路不遠了，此役靠著王牌投手Max Scherzer 6局9K失2分的優質內容，終場以4比2擊退雙城，封王魔術數字剩「M2」。

前一戰老虎以6比1逆轉勝白襪，確定至少以外卡晉級，目前戰績89勝70敗，暫居國聯第3，但同區的皇家緊追在後，今天對白襪以6比3贏球，兩隊仍維持2場勝差。

「一直以來我沒有很在乎皇家的狀況，只專注在自己球隊上，但這是我本季頭一次有這種想法，真的好希望皇家輸掉比賽，這樣我們才能趕快封王。」Scherzer在賽後說道。

目前美聯戰績最好的天使只要再贏一場比賽，就確定取得季後賽第1種子；為此要是老虎順利封王，最有可能迎戰第2種子的金鶯。
