殺出程咬金 賽馬三冠王再度夢碎

美國賽馬界極為難得的三冠王7日再度落空，被各界寄以厚望的California Chrome，在最後的貝爾蒙特大賽只跑出第四名。

這匹最被看好，賭4賠4的「灰姑娘」在最後一段急起直追，可是還是趕不上賠率9-1的Tonalist。後者沒有參加肯塔基大賽和普瑞克涅斯大賽，算是半路殺出的程咬金。

賽前很不起眼，賭1賠28的Commissioner開跑後一馬當先，直到最後一個轉彎才被趕上，可是守住第二名。第三名是賠率24-1的Medal Count。

California Chrome與Wicked Strong並列第四，使賽馬場內渴望見證歷史的10幾萬觀眾驚愕得靜默無聲，對製造三冠王的機會又一次流失扼腕不已。
