中颱撲花東　國軍協助居民撤離

中颱麥徳姆麥徳姆直撲花東，國軍花蓮憲兵隊進駐玉里鎮，協助卓溪鄉山里部落及清水部落居民撤離。阿兵哥暫時駐紮在玉里鎮藝文中心埋鍋造飯，準備和颱風抗戰。
 
花蓮憲兵隊長鄭承軍表示，按照中央氣象局颱風路徑預測看來，花蓮縣中南區可能首當其衝，因此進駐玉里鎮，協助可能土石流警戒重點區域卓溪鄉山區部落老弱婦孺撤離。
 
下午國軍及花蓮縣消防局及卓溪鄉公所，到清水部落挨家挨戶廣播，請居民暫時撤離到卓樂活動中心避難。國軍攙扶行動不便的老婦人上車，她不捨地說：「很擔心家裡淹大水，希望這回能躲過一劫。」（黃瑞娟／花蓮報導）
