政變後8年 斐濟今民主選舉

（法新社斐濟蘇瓦17日電） 今天是斐濟人2006年政變以來首度舉辦選舉，軍人隨時戒備以防暴動，但警方回報早上投票時沒有問題發生。

斐濟首都蘇瓦市中心附近的發圖瓦加公立學校（Vatuwaqa Public School）投票所，在當地時間早上7時30分（台北時間凌晨3時30分）開放投票前就大排長龍。掌權近8年的斐濟軍事強人巴依尼馬拉馬（VoreqeBainimarama），也在這所學校投下他神聖的一票。

未來可能擔任總理的巴依尼馬拉馬表示，他有信心贏得這次具歷史意義的投票選舉。占全國總人口90萬40%的印度裔斐濟人在這次選舉首度擁有完整的選舉權。

他告訴記者：「過去8年我們歷經許多事情，今天對斐濟來說是非常重要的一天，這是我們首次在沒有任何歧視下投票。」

「以前排隊投票還要區分種族，這個情況現在已經不復見。今天事關斐濟回歸民主。」

這次投票被視作是終結斐濟「政變文化」的關鍵，在1987到2006年間就有4個政府遭推翻，斐濟原住民和印度人之間的緊張關係為主要原因。（譯者：中央社陳昱婷）
