籃協9日召開領隊會議，確定第12季SBL季後賽改制，由原先前4名晉級，改為前6名晉級季後賽，為新球季最大突破。

根據籃協新聞稿，新制季後賽首輪將由例行賽戰績第4、5名與3、6名進行五戰三勝，勝方分別與第1、2名展開第二輪七強四勝較勁，決定冠軍賽門票。

籃協解釋，改制原因為避免四強底定後賽程淪為「消化比賽」，或是晉級球隊的練兵時間。

第12季預計將於11月22日開戰，除了新莊、天母等主戰場，SBL也將移師台中、彰化、苗栗等地，總冠軍賽前3戰於高雄巨蛋舉行。

另外，台北地區的例行賽將增加星期四賽程，每星期四、五為「籃球推廣日」，憑學生證可免費入場。
