火箭主場出戰快艇來到第二節，被Chris Paul發動逆轉成功，在一人單節17分帶領下，火箭從領先變成落後，目前比數58比61。

林書豪第二節初不在場上，由Isaiah Canaan頂替，他罰進1球後，又砍進三分球，開節在Chandler Parsons的連連攻勢下，火箭仍握有雙位數領先。

第二節第一次暫停前，火箭還以44比34領先，林書豪也在之後回到場上，就在James Harden三罰命中後，火箭47比37領先。

不過快艇此時由Chris Paul連兩顆三分球開始，打出16比2攻勢，其中10分由他包辦，火箭被打成49比51落後，隨後Paul又以三分球拉開與火箭的差距。

Paul的得分沒有因此中止，沒讓火箭追上，倒數2秒林書豪罰進2球，火箭上半場結束還有3分的落後。
