（中央社倫敦／華盛頓12日綜合外電報導）英國衛生當局今天說，他們發現有第二名感染中東呼吸症候群（MERS）冠狀病毒的病患本月1日由沙烏地阿拉伯吉達（Jeddah ）過境倫敦飛往美國。

英格蘭公共衛生部（PHE）發表聲明說，這名已知第二位飛往美國的MERS病患是自吉達搭乘沙烏地航空公司（Saudi Airlines）第113航班客機飛抵倫敦，再由希斯羅機場（Heathrow）轉機飛美。

聲明中並說：「據悉，病毒傳播的可能性極低，但為防範未然，本部正與航空公司合作，來聯繫當時坐在這名病患附近的英國乘客，以提供衛生資訊。」

美國疾病管制暨預防中心（CDC）官員指出，這名病患是醫療人員，在沙國定居並工作，1日當天抵美後曾到過波士頓、亞特蘭大和佛羅里達州奧蘭多（Orlando）。

疾管中心官員表示，姓名和性別不予公布的此人現正住在佛州1家醫院，「情況良好」。

他到佛州是為了探視家人，於8日入住醫院。

疾管中心說，出於「高度謹慎」，現正設法聯繫曾與病患搭乘同1班機的500名乘客，以了解是否有任何人患病。不過無法確定的是，這名病患在旅途中是否具有傳染性。(中央社)
