竹野內豐在《西野的戀愛與冒險》中，化身風靡女性的桃花男，因具備征服各年齡層女性的魅力，而被劇組找來當男主角。不過他在詮釋角色時，可說是苦惱萬分，原因是他覺得角色和自己沒有共通點，但導演井口奈己表示：「竹野內豐有著危險的魅力，讓女演員們都激起母性本能了。」
