輪胎尺寸升級疑問

關於輪胎尺寸升級問題，許多國產輪胎尺寸為205/55 R16，欲升級17吋的輪圈，輪胎的扁平選擇，為何是215/45 R17呢？
通常選擇輪胎的尺寸選擇，最大徑維持相近，如此一來，速度誤差可降至最低，那麼205/50 R17或者225/45 R17不是比215/45 R17還適合嗎？
