在西非獅子山共和國感染伊波拉病毒的義大利醫師，上個月底返回羅馬接受治療。義大利媒體透露，病人已度過危險期，最佳情況是可以與家人共度耶誕節。

被稱為「零號病人」隨同義大利的人道醫療「急診組織」（Emergency）在獅子山（Sierra Leone）對抗伊波拉病毒，但不幸自身也受到感染。

義大利政府派出軍機接他返國，並進入羅馬的史巴蘭贊尼傳染病研究院（Lazzaro Spallanzaniinstitute）的隔離院區治療。

義大利「共和報」17日指出，在醫療團隊齊心投入照護後，零號病人已經度過最危險的階段。但史巴蘭贊尼的科學部主任伊波里多（Giuseppe Ippolito）表示，醫療進度公告將是措詞嚴謹，沒有太多的揣測。

醫療團隊將在當地時間18日公布最新的治療情況，預計也會公開使用的實驗藥物和療法。

然而，共和報表示，病人已經逐漸恢復自主的能力，甚至可能返家與家人共度耶誕節。

「急診組織」主席史特拉達（Cecilia Strada）告訴「晚郵報」，「對抗伊波拉不是件簡單的過程，但現在我們安心多了，情況好轉不少。」1031218
