首戰敗給哈薩克後，中華男籃隊25日13：00將出戰中國大陸，若不想連續兩屆止步小組賽，「海峽大戰」是非贏不可。

中華隊與中國大陸、哈薩克被分在C組，分組前兩名晉級八強，比較勝敗關係，海峽大戰中華隊只要贏球就能晉級。

首戰中華隊問題不少，防守溝通不良、缺乏進攻點、場地適應不佳，唯二「小確幸」是林志傑、田壘都逐漸走出傷痛陰影。

另外，重返主力輪替的大前鋒周柏臣首戰表現精采，努力彌補少了「Q」戴維斯（Quincy Davis）的禁區戰力，對於對抗中國「長城陣」多少有些幫助。

以王哲林、周琦為首的中國長人陣共有8名球員身高至少200公分，但年齡都在25歲以下，中華隊不是沒有機會贏球，只是必須拿出首戰消失的默契與向心力。
