防伊波拉 研發疫苗下周施打

民視 – 

西非伊波拉裔情加速擴散，世衛組織估計可能會有超過2萬人遭感染，而為了遏止疫情，英國牛津大學即將進行人體實驗，當局分別招募60名英國以及80名非洲的健康自願者，下週就要開始接受疫苗注射，希望明年初就能讓西非民眾開始使用疫苗。

至今已經造成超過1500人死亡的伊波拉病毒，讓西方各國如臨大敵，紛紛加快疫苗研發腳步，英國牛津大學的實驗室就已經打算著手進行人體實驗，而他們所針對的是幾內亞，獅子山以及賴比瑞亞的伊波拉病毒株，為此人體實驗將同時在非洲以及英國展開，當局已經在英國，甘比亞以及馬利同時徵求健康自願者施打伊波拉疫苗。

牛津大學教授希爾：「也不可能加速實驗腳步，還是要等一個月看反應狀況，能加快的就是監管及基本審查批准，所有人都在合力協助。」

不只是英國，美國下週也將展開同一種疫苗的人體實驗，希望能夠增加臨床實驗結果。

牛津大學教授希爾：「從來沒人認為剛研發出的疫苗，3個月後就能真正救人性命。」

牛津大學的這項實驗得到英國政府以及慈善基金會金援一共460萬美金，一旦實驗成功，部份資金將馬上用來生產1萬支疫苗，交由世衛組織，在西非高危險地區使用，如果一切順利，也許今年底明年初，疫苗就能送抵非洲，遏止疫情的擴散。（民視新聞 李慧芝 綜合報導）
