勇士隊終於向陷入低潮的二壘手Dan Uggla說再見。即使合約還沒走完，得再付1800萬美元，但勇士隊還是宣布釋出打擊率僅0.162的Uggla。

「我們從上個月就開始打電話、探詢買家，」勇士隊總經理Frang Wren說，「終於到了個節骨眼，我們了解，這或許是我們唯一該走的路。」

美國時間18日早上，釋出之前，勇士隊總經理、總教練Fredi Gonzalez，當面告知Uggla這項訊息。「Uggla很有職業意識，就像之前一樣，也後也會的，」教頭Gonzalez說，「現在他離開了，可以找尋新的機會。會有人給他機會的，我們獻上最誠摯的祝福。」

得知Uggla離開的消息，幾位勇士球員都很不捨。「今天對我而言很難受，」一壘手Freddie Freeman說，「Uggla在隊上深受歡迎，每天總是認真努力，並告訴大家繼續向前。我得花點時間，才能走出來。」

外野手Jason Heyward也說：「Uggla從不抱怨，一直希望能上場，提到他，我們的讚美說不完。」
